Le FBI a rendu publique lundi une chronologie de la fusillade survenue au club Pulse d’Orlando, où un tireur, Omar Mateen, a fait 49 morts.
2h02 : Des agents sont appelés au Pulse après plusieurs appels relatant des coups de feu.
2h04 : Des renforts sont appelés.
2h08 : Des agents de différents services d’ordre entrent dans le club et ouvrent le feu sur le tireur.
2h18 : Le groupe d’intervention tactique de la police d’Orlando demande une mobilisation générale.
2h35 : Le tireur contacte le 911. L’appel dure une cinquantaine de secondes.
2h48 : Premier appel entre un négociateur et Mateen, qui dure environ 9 minutes.
3h03 : Deuxième appel entre un négociateur et Mateen, qui dure environ 16 minutes.
3h24 : Troisième appel entre un négociateur et Mateen, qui dure environ 3 minutes.

[Dans ces trois appels, le tireur se présente comme un «soldat islamique». Il demande que l’Amérique cesse de bombarder la Syrie et l’Irak, et indique que c’est pour cette raison qu’il pose son geste. Il déclare aussi que des véhicules à l’extérieur sont piégés et qu’il va les faire exploser si les policiers font quelque chose de stupide. Il dit aussi avoir une veste d’explosifs. Après son dernier appel, les policiers n’ont pas été capables de le joindre à nouveau.]
4h21 : Les policiers d’Orlando retirent une unité d’air conditionné d’un des vestiaires pour permettre à des victimes de sortir. L’information obtenue de ces personnes a permis à la police de mieux comprendre la situation à l’intérieur du club.
4h29 : Plusieurs victimes mentionnent à la police d’Orlando que le tireur a dit qu’il installerait quatre vestes explosives sur des victimes dans les 15 prochaines minutes.
5h02 : Le groupe d’intervention tactique d’Orlando crée une brèche dans le mur à l’aide d’explosifs et d’un camion blindé pour pénétrer dans le club.
5h14 : Des coups de feu sont tirés, disent des agents sur les ondes de la police.
5h15 : Des coups de feu sont tirés en direction du suspect et ce dernier est déclaré mort.
Il n’y aurait eu aucun coup de feu tiré entre le premier échange à 2h08 et l’attaque finale.
Après leurs recherches, les policiers n’ont trouvé aucun explosif sur les lieux.
