Les inondations à Houston, au Texas, ont provoqué des brèches dans une digue au sud de la ville, ont déclaré les autorités locales, enjoignant à tous les résidents de cette zone de «partir immédiatement».
«La digue de Columbia Lakes a été percée!», ont indiqué les autorités du comté de Brazoria sur leur compte Twitter. «Partez immédiatement!» Une grande partie de cette zone au sud de Houston est sous les eaux depuis quatre jours à cause de la tempête Harvey.
Selon la porte-parole du comté, cette zone fait l'objet «d'un ordre d'évacuation obligatoire depuis déjà plusieurs jours. Mais des gens n'ont pas tenu compte de cet avertissement donc les services d'urgence vont les récupérer» désormais.
«Une cinquantaine de maisons» sont concernées par cette injonction, a précisé Sharon Trower à l'AFP.
Le comté de Brazoria est coincé entre la ville de Houston, au nord, et la côte du Golfe du Mexique, au sud. Sa population totale est proche de 350 000 habitants.
